Sports Figures

Sports Figures - ESPN

In the 1990's, ESPN put out a series of videos that combined an understanding of math and science with popular sports and famous athletes. The videos were great! Our school purchased the set on VHS tape, and our physics teachers shared them with 100's of students. Cable in the Classroom provided a wonderful 10 minute video to help teach many topics. Teachers were encouraged to tape the shows and use in the classroom. But VHS is tough to use, and the tapes got old. So…

  • Below is a list of the sports figures videos we had for classroom use.
  • Sorry, but respecting copyright laws, vimeo files are locked.
  • We had VHS tapes, these are not HD quality.
  • Contact me if you are a current student for the password. I will change this each term.
I don't want us to lose the videos that were so good for the students, but I can not make these publicly available. If only they had known how teachers could use Vimeo back in 1996. I only wish ESPN would post these or make them available again. 15 years old, they are still fantastic teaching tools.
